So you are thinking about your first Lagree Megaformer class. Cool. Nervous? Totally normal. Not sure what Lagree is exactly? We got you. Let us walk you through everything from check-in to post-class glow. We promise you have got this.

Before You Arrive

What to Wear

Fitted, moisture-wicking clothes. Nothing loose (the carriage has no chill about fabric). Leggings and a fitted top? Perfect. Bring a layer if you get cold, but trust us—you’ll warm up fast.

Grip Socks (This is Non-Negotiable)

Get yourself grippy socks. Yoga socks. Pillow socks. Whatever you call them, they have rubber grips on the bottom and they keep your feet from sliding all over the machine. We sell them at the studio, or bring your own. Either way, non-negotiable.

Hydration

Bring water. You’re going to sweat. The constant tension and 50 minutes of work means your body is working hard the entire time. Hydrate before, sip during.

Timing

Show up 10-15 minutes early. Check in, get fitted to the machine, ask questions. You want to walk in ready, not rushed.

The Megaformer Machine

Yeah, it looks intense. Spring-based machine, gliding carriage, handles, foot platforms. But don’t let the equipment intimidate you—it’s actually pretty intuitive once you get on it.

Your instructor will handle setup:

  • Spring resistance adjustment (lighter for first timers, heavier as you level up)
  • Where to grip
  • Where your feet go
  • A walkthrough of 1-2 movements so you get it
Your instructor knows it’s your first time. Modifications exist for a reason. We’re here to make this work for you.

Class Structure (50 minutes)

Warm-Up (5-7 minutes)

Dynamic stretches and light movements to warm up the joints and activate your core. Nothing spicy yet, but you’re getting ready.

Main Class (40 minutes)

This is where the vibe hits different. Your instructor leads you through sequences—legs, glutes, upper body, core, back. Slow (2-3 seconds per movement), constant tension, the work never stops. Your muscles are engaged the entire time.

You’re going to feel the shake. Your muscles will literally quiver. This is the MEGA shake, and it means you’re doing it right. You’re recruiting those deep muscle fibers. Lean into it.

Cool-Down & Stretch (5-10 minutes)

Gentle stretching to bring your heart rate down and release tension. You’ll be breathing hard, shaking, and honestly? Feeling pretty amazing.

Modifications Are Your Superpower

Your body’s going to tell you what feels good. Listen to it. Your instructor has modifications for days:

  • Lighter springs if you need to dial it back
  • Range modifications if a movement feels off
  • Alternative exercises for joint concerns

Use them. Lagree is about intensity and muscle engagement, not proving anything. Perfect form on lighter resistance beats struggling on heavy resistance. Always.

What You’ll Feel

During Class

Your legs, glutes, and core are going to work. Hard. Your whole body’s engaged. The shake is real. The sweat is real. Your heart rate is elevated and you’re feeling it.

Immediately After

You’ll be tired and energized at the same time. That’s the endorphin rush, the natural high. Your muscles will feel worked but good—like you actually did something.

The Next 24-48 Hours

You’re gonna be sore. DOMS (Delayed Onset Muscle Soreness) is totally normal after your first class. Your muscles just did something new. This isn’t injury—it’s adaptation. Usually fades by day 3 or 4. Come back for your second class and it’s way less intense.

Quick Tips for Success

  • Eat light. Small snack 30-60 min before? Good. Full meal right before? Nah.
  • Tell your instructor everything. Injuries, concerns, anything. They’ll modify without judgment.
  • Stop comparing. Your neighbor’s doing their thing, you’re doing yours. Focus on your form and effort. That’s it.
  • Come back. Class two will feel easier. By class 4, you’ll notice real strength gains. Consistency is everything.
